I'd rather post WIPs like this so I get to talk a bit more about the piece! It's nice to have a little place where I can talk about the process. I tend to discuss the creation of my stuff on Instagram. But the overall nature of the application is for photos, not "blogs", so it takes up too much space. I love to just talk about the behind-the-scenes of a piece lmao. Tumblr is close because it's literally for blogging, but it's very cluttered (most people organize their content via tags, and only desktop users get to use CSS for their blog, which doesn't get translated in mobile). Also I pretty much dropped Tumblr lol
Anyway, Pico Crew + Cassandra! I like to try different art styles. For this one, I wanted good shape language and bold outlines. I plan to do flat coloring for it. Most of my recent works are paintings (or a mix, having only details painted). Line variation is a bit frustrating for me. I feel like I need to find the derivative of a function or something to find how fast I should change the line weight oof. I'll probably color the outline as well, I really want everything to POP. Saturated colors definitely will take the (color) wheel! I want the piece to be funky!
I think I have to tweak Darnell a bit. His right leg is too stiff (or at least now enough folds on his pant to show volume), literally looks like a stick rn.

Hey, nice WIP!
The art style in this piece looks great, it fits very well with the characters but Nene look kinda weird, I don't know how to explain it, I guess is just her expression or the way you draw her eyes. I see your artwork in NG and it looks very cool, I ranked all! :)
Hope to see the final result of this piece in the Pico Day.
Also, welcome to Newgrounds.
I don't know if it helps or not, but you could use the color palette from some illustrations of MindChamber and cmy2k.
